Kiting Algalon, Ensidia style - Fuman - 08-13-2009 So, after raiding Algalon for an hour. I noticed some key differences in the way we were trying it, and the way Ensidia beat it. Being spread out all over the room is good for cosmic smash, but it sucks for keeping constellations off healers. I don't know if it's possible, but if we get more black holes down, the kiters(hunters) can kill the constellations much quicker. For example, Ensidia had four black holes down before constellations spawned and two constellations died as soon as they spawned because of that. Also, if we can stay in only half of the room, black holes are much closer to people and it's possible for everyone to get into one before big bang even if there is only one hole up. Also i noticed a couple times people going into black holes for big bang with a constellation agrro'ed on them. You HAVE to make sure that you put some distance in between you and the constellation before going into the hole because if you close the hole, you just killed people. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Optimally, no constellations will be on anyone but me or another kiter but if not, don't kill the raid by going to the hole with a constellation right on your ass. Re: Kiting Algalon, Ensidia style - Firecrest - 08-14-2009 We spread out because we were worried about tank healing during Cosmic Smash. If the tank goes without heals for 4-5 seconds because all the healers are moving away from red voidzones, they're gonna die. Likewise the raid will suffer if they don't get heals after a star dies for the same reason. This might be amendable with hots or something, but it would take some coordination. However, I could be mistaken but the stars hit like pansies. The only problem with one being on a healer is if it follows them to a Black Hole. The damage seemed to be negligible. Re: Kiting Algalon, Ensidia style - Hitshade - 08-14-2009 Fuck Ensidia. But yes, confining the raid to 1/2 the room is a good idea. |
